"We inspire our people through responsibility, learning, recognition and joy” – Atlantic Geomatics

Congratulations to John Baggs, Technical Manager, who was voted 2016’s Employee of the Year.

Oliver Viney, Business Manager presents John with his Employee of the Year Award.

All employees of Atlantic Geomatics voted for the individual they believed went above and beyond the following criteria.

  • Commitment to adding value to the brand
  • Attitude to work
  • Work ethic
  • Willingness to help others

John joined Atlantic Geomatics in 2008, after completing a BSc Surveying & Mapping at the University of Newcastle. He started as Trainee Surveyor and quickly developed his skills both on site and in the office under the guidance of our senior survey staff. By 2012, John had become a Senior Surveyor and a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors.

"I can’t think of any one more deserving than John. His attitude to work and willingness to help others is second to none. He is always prepared to go above and beyond when it comes to a project and takes great pride in producing the best quality surveys for our client.” – Oliver Viney

In his role as Senior Surveyor John started taking on Project Management responsibilities overseeing multiple projects ensuring they remained on schedule and that they met clients specifications

In 2014, John was promoted to Technical Manager. He now overseas projects from a technical viewpoint rather than managing them on a day to day basis and is more involved in both the training of our new surveyors and the development of the photogrammetry side of Atlantic Geomatics.
